Senyor Sto. Niño RGV was founded in 1995 by a small group of Filipinos in The Rio Grande Valley approximately 550 miles south of San Antonio, Texas. It was first known as Santo Niño Group. And on June 12, 1998, same date as the Philippine Independence, a group of 30 men from Santo Niño Group formed Council 12234 popularly known as "The Senyor Santo Nino Council" under the The Knight of Columbus whose main office located in New Haven, CT. The newly formed Council aside from its own Charitable Projects adapted the Santo Niño Group whose activities includes a weekly Novena, usually held every Friday followed by fellowship among members. More followers, devotees and Members were added every year. Its members grew in hundreds. Unfortunately, by 2004 the Council was placed in inactive status. But that did stop the remaining members to continue celebrating the Feast of Santo Niño which was being held every 3rd Saturday of January. The remaining members of the previous Council formed the Senyor Sto. Niño RGV a duly registered Non-Profit Organization whose business address is in Mission, Texas. Under its new Preamble and By-Laws, the Organization's main objective focused to Santo Nino. The Organiztion continue the activities and the traditional way of celebrating the Feast first held by the previous Groups. Holy Mass was being held every year in different Parishes followed by short procession with traditional Sinulog Dance and chanting "Pit Senyor" and "Viva Santo Niño". The Organization holds yearly fundraising to support the Group's Project. The Organization also solicit funds from its Sponsors through Letter. The solicited funds are to be used for the coming Feast. The Organization cater hundreds of Devotees every year along with Programs and Shows for Entertainment of which Performers from different culture and from different cities that composes the Rio Grande Valley gather in this yearly Festival to perform for free as their way thanking for the Holy Infant Child, Santo Niño. As to this date the Organization growing strong and continue its dedication, hard work and a year of planning for the next Feast. To all Devotees of Santo Niño around the world.
